Hitchhiking is when you hold your thumb up, in an attempt to flag down a vehicle that may be going your way. It is, of course, legal in a lot of countries, the United States included. It’s also fun, cost effective, and adventurous, but at the same time, it can be dangerous and even life threatening. So, is hitchhiking really worth the risk? Find a gas station and take your time to look around. When you see someone who looks approachable and trustworthy, walk up to them and start a casual conversation to establish a connection, before kindly requesting for a ride. You can also chip in for gas.
